Ige*Timer | Rick Trolsen | Chris Alford
Tuesday, September 28.
Blue Nile. 10PM.
Scatterjazz Ige*Timer is an original experimental music duo from Zurich, Switzerland and Milano, Italy. Both seasoned jazz and rock players as well as film-composers, this is their beautifully wacky project. Percussionist SImon Berz (zurich) uses in this group a rig of completely homemade circuit bending, low-fi-electronic gadgets, some of which are light sensitive (kind of a must see to believe set-up). Janek Klaus (Milano) plays upright bass through a laptop and multiple effects and loop structures. Every set of theirs is quite unique, as evidenced by their brief visit last autumn. Joining them this night are master trombonist Rick Trolsen and emerging titanic guitarist Chris Alford, for a one-time only heavyweight local-improv sound sculpture. There will be two duo sets followed by a spontaneous quartet collaboration. do come! this particular evening will be a release party for the cd they made documenting last fall's US tour, part of which was recorded at the Blue Nile.
